I found it interesting that in the same paper that reported the meeting where Metro begged people to beg the state for money to keep the routes,the mayor is proposing using $3.25 million in newly available street funds for bicycle routes. Why can’t that money be used for Metro?
Let’s work for that.
PS to those who don’t understand why cars should be taxed for public transit I say think about traffic congestion NOW and what it would be AFTER Metro shuts down.
The government by stating it is eliminating public services is communicating to the public it cannot properly maintain the revenue they collect and essentially are children who need adults to supervise their behavior. I suggest Metro be eliminated and a free market solution be put into place which is efficient and safe (no bums, homeless, etc.)
