The General Council

The Transit Riders Union is a member-run organization. Our work is coordinated by the General Council, a body of nine officers elected by the membership, alongside our General Manager.

The Council serves as the administrative engine of our union. Their responsibility is to translate the vision set during our monthly Membership Meetings into strategic action: coordinating our specialized work-groups, managing day-to-day operations, and making urgent decisions between meetings to keep our campaigns moving forward. The General Council meets monthly, and positions serve 1- or 2-year terms.

  • General Manager: Lam Ho
    The General Manager oversees the daily operations of the union and ensures our long-term stability and growth (equivalent to an Executive Director in similar groups).
