Internationalism

Solidarity doesn’t end at our city limits, and it shouldn’t be confined by our borders either! Climate change, gentrification and car-centric urbanism are global problems that require us to learn from and stand with transit users everywhere.

In 2019, TRU voted to partner with Riders’ Rights Lebanon, a grassroots NGO in Beirut, to launch the Riders’ Rights International Network. RRIN’s mission builds on TRU’s experiences in Seattle to raise awareness of transit and mobility rights issues, campaigns and struggles around the world, through an intersectional, justice-oriented and multi-disciplinary perspective.

Our vision is to support pro-transit movements and organizations around the world, with special emphasis on rider-led associations in the Global South, through mutual learning and material assistance when and where it’s needed most.
