Public Hearing on EHT for Housing, Shelter, Services

Hearing starts 5:30 PM
Seattle City Hall
Council Chambers

Arrive early to sign up to testify. The line will probably start forming around 5:00 PM.

On April 23rd, City Councilmembers are expected to introduce legislation to fund new low-income housing, shelter, and services through a tax on large businesses like Amazon.

That evening at 6:00 PM, the City Council will host a public hearing. Be there with Housing For All to testify in favor of strong legislation! We will have suggested talking points available.

Last year over 8,500 people were counted homeless in Seattle, and over 22,000 low-income households were “severely rent-burdened” – paying over half their income in rent and utilities. Seattle can’t effectively address the homelessness crisis without a massive new investment in deeply affordable housing.

Housing For All is urging the City to find at least $150 million per year in progressive revenue to create new housing, shelter and services – including at least $75 million through a tax on large businesses like Amazon. Join us!
