Addressing the Eviction Crisis: Policy Options and Community Solutions

The state eviction moratorium is scheduled to end on June 30. Rental assistance programs and state legislation to protect renters are unlikely to be fully implemented by that date. In addition, many renters will fall through the cracks of the state protections, which are not as strong as they could be. That’s why it’s so important that local governments step up to do more to prevent a wave of evictions and increased homelessness.

Join us at 6pm on Wednesday, May 19 at a convening to discuss what King County cities can do. This event is for renters, community members, mayors, councilmembers and staff. We will review the new state-level protections, identifying who is covered and who may be left out. Then we will discuss various options for local action.
