The Transit Riders Union is joining an effort by a number of organizations pressing Sound Transit to reconsider their plans to build a 600 to 900 stall parking garage at their new Northgate station.
On June 14 at 1:30, the Sound Transit Capital committee members will meet and likely vote on a package of investments to improve access to the Northgate station. Join us and tell Sound Transit that they should focus their investments on benefiting the 92% of people who by 2030 will get to the station on bike, foot or transit. Encourage them to spend money on cycletracks and neighborhood greenways accessing the station, a bike/pedestrian bridge over I-5 to North Seattle Community College and Licton Springs, sidewalks in the surrounding neighborhoods, and improved bus service to the station.
